Anne-Drea Allison

B.A. (HONS), B.S.W., M.S.W.

Anne-Drea (she/her) graduated from the University of New Brunswick with her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, First-Class Honours in 2008, and a Major in Psychology, and continued on to earn the Post-Degree Bachelor of Social (Pd.BSW) Work from St. Thomas University. In 2016, Anne-Drea earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Dalhousie University, with an emphasis on Anti-Oppressive Practice. Anne-Drea has practiced as a licensed social worker focusing on forensic and psychiatric social work, while also operating Waypoint Counselling & Therapeutics, and is a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers. In addition to providing private counselling, Anne-Drea began teaching at St. Thomas University in 2016 and continues teaching there today.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Anne-Drea expanded her private practice hours to help address counselling waitlists and accepts pro-bono clients. To further address the service gap created by the global pandemic, Anne-Drea volunteers by writing freelance articles for public media, such as, "Freddy Plus," a monthly, online/print publication. Anne-Drea's writing is intended to educate readers about issues related to mental illness, and to provide helpful resources for readers who may be waitlisted for service.

Please see Anne-Drea’s resume for a complete list of her credentials, coursework, and trainings.
